Textile Inspiration Day
In March 2026 we proudly present the very first edition of Textile Inspiration Day: a new annual event that places textiles at the heart of artistic expression and social connection. Expect a vibrant day filled with talks, masterclasses, performances, workshops and an exhibition — all celebrating the power of textile.
Theme 2026
‘Hands that remember, hands that create’
This Textile Inspiration Day is all about bringing generations together. With the theme ‘Hands that remember, hands that create’, textile lovers of all ages meet to learn from one another and create new connections. Older generations share their craftsmanship and stories, while younger creators bring fresh ideas and new perspectives. In this way, Leiden's textile heritage is kept alive and evolving.

How do I take part?
You come up with an activity you’d like to organise (exhibition, workshop, demonstration, etc.) and a location.
Register your location (this can be your studio, shop or home — as long as it’s in Leiden).
We review your application and add your activity to the map on our website.
You’ll receive a poster, flyers and social media visuals to help spread the word.
On 14 March, you welcome visitors and enjoy a great day.
We ask that you do not charge an entry fee for your activity. One of our core goals is to keep the event accessible to everyone. You are, however, welcome to ask visitors for a donation.

Textile Inspiration Day is something we create together. And a textile city is never built alone. On behalf of STOF BOND, we organise the main programme at the locations above, but you can organize your own event by signing up for the Bonus Programme.

Lakenhal Laat
Can’t wait until March 14? On 13 March, Lakenhal Laat will be fully dedicated to STOF BOND.
Once a month, the Lakenhal offers the opportunity to spend a fun evening out exploring the museum and participating in a special program. On the 13th of March the Lakenhal Laat will be entirely dedicated to de STOF BOND.
