Volkshuis
On March 14, the Volkshuis will be filled with creativity and activity. During this special day, artists and organizations come together to offer a varied programme focused on textiles, participation and inspiration. Visitors are invited to watch, listen, join in and explore.
Bernadette Drenth will lead an upcycling workshop, exploring what can be made from pieces of old fabric. Artists Annelies Brakkee, Hetty Arens and Matilde Zijp will share their approaches to working with textiles, while Marike van IJssel hosts a hands-on felting workshop.
Costumes by Fields of Wonder will be on display, and Wim Kuin invites everyone to take part in The Red Line, a participatory project that encourages conversation and reflection on the history of the Volkshuis. And there is much more to discover throughout the day.
Op 14 maart bruist het Volkshuis van creativiteit. Tijdens deze bijzondere dag presenteren kunstenaars en organisaties een gevarieerd programma vol textiel, ontmoeting en inspiratie. Bezoekers kunnen kijken, luisteren, meedoen en vooral ontdekken.
Zo geeft Bernadette Drenth een workshop upcyclen: wat kun je maken van restjes oude stof? Kunstenaars Annelies Brakkee, Hetty Arens en Matilde Zijp delen hun werkwijze en visie op textiel. Daarnaast verzorgt Marike van IJssel een viltworkshop voor wie zelf aan de slag wil.
Er zijn kostuums te bewonderen van Fields of Wonder, en Wim Kuin werkt samen met bezoekers aan De Rode Lijn: een participatief project waarin ruimte is voor gesprek, ontmoeting en verhalen over de geschiedenis van het Volkshuis. En dit is nog maar een greep uit alles wat er die dag te beleven valt.
